My first attempt to pierce a bowl. It was so nice outside this afternoon, I just sat outside and let the breeze carry away the smoke and dust of carving. Made the bowl from cherry this morning, no finish. I probably should go back and clean up some of the crumbs in the holes.

Thanks everyone,

Ken - It took me about an hour to do the piercing using an NSK Presto which is a microturbine air powered carving tool. It is similar to dental drills, runs 320,000 RPM, and uses 1/16" shank dental burrs.

Paul, not sure if I will do a finish, I have an oops to overcome and won't bother with finishing until I figure out how to repair it or hide it.
