I need some help with finding a product that will work for something I am trying.

I am trying to turn some metal to make a piece for a project at work. The quickest/easiest way to mount this is to glue it to another piece of material and turn it but the heat it is generating is too high and the CA glue breaks down before I am finished machining it.

Anyone know of a glue that can withstand a higher temperature than CA? I think Epoxy will break down even sooner.

Oh yeah....one more requirement....it must be able to be removed so some type of deactivator or acetone or something must break the glue down for removal.

Anyone have any help? One of you metal workers out there must have a solution...... Thanks!

Fred,

Loctite makes a high temp instant advesive. Cant remember the product name. check out their website

Fred:
In the boating industry, we used JB Weld in many high temperature environments without issue.

JB Weld is a favorite of boaters that have let a boat cooling manifold freeze and crack. Those temperatures can reach the mid 200 degree range.

JB Weld is a "special" high temperature epoxy.
Good luck.

There is an adhesive used with polymer clay that handles around 300 deg. for the baking process. Michael's and Hobby Lobby carries it and it's fairly quick drying.
