I do most of my real job work on a Dual-beam FIB/SEM. I had to call the tool down so I went to the reps website to try to find some info and I came across these pics.

Im not sure what type of "wetwood" the first pic is of, but you can see micron bar for measurement of the fibers diameter. Its Magnified to 1500x.

The second is Silver Maple Magnified about 2,000x.

A sheet of Paper is about 100um if I remember correctly.

I thought it was pretty cool and Yuzz folks are into 'Wood Porn".

Not alot of people understand my vice.

Leap, That is a photo of of the sanding line!!! Just so folks know. all those little tube looking things. they are what make wood such a P.I.TA. as far as swelling, shrinking and generally moving around. It is also what stabilization is supposed to fill in. I likes the Micro stuff also. Thanks for taking the time to share them.

Charles, Electron microscopes image in black and white so if you want something interesting you'd have to go with an optical scope and the highest I've seen is about 250x but that is probable too High a mag.

On a different note my wife hates watching CSI when I'm around. I guess it's because I call BS on the lab scenes.......

I love it when the director of the CSI lab runs the entire PD and is always the first into any crime scene. Yea, like that is going to happen.
