Hi All
although not 'new' to the penturning world, (I've only made a total of about 15 in the past as gifts etc) I have been a lurker here for some time & thought it about time I should 'join up'.
For me it really is "just a part time hobby," Being retired I don't have gobs of money to throw around, so I must admit it would be nice to make a little money at it. (Like that's going to happen!) Just got some casting stuff & plan to give that a go... Charlie actually PM'd & laughed as he told me I would soon be addicted . Anyway thanks to both him & Wolftat for their help.Really don't know what I'll be able to contribute, but as I said to Jeff, I'll try where I can.
Other hobbies include lapidary, stone carving, kayaking (when I can) as well as the usual 'chores' Oh & I'm currently taking a motorcycle training course, as I would love to get a bike... (trying to reliive my youth  perhaps)
Main claim to fame... I actually know & consider the talented Marla Mills a friend, as well as whatshisname, you know that guy... that 'Curly' fellah (just kidding Pete:wink: the cats said 'say hi to uncle Pete!')
Regards to all...

Wow! thanks for all the welcomes guys.
To Displaced Canadian... Lapidary is more or less to do with rocks, finding them, cutting them, but mostly cutting, polishing &/or shaping them to make decorative items/ cabachons (stones that are not faceted) etc.
Bet you wish you'd never asked now

Welcome from Va.! Good luck with the bike. My wife and I have been riding for several years now and love it! Oh, yea, pen turning can be VERY addictive!

Thanks ALA, the bike course worried me a bit lots of talk about the likelyhood of being taken out by some other driver . I actually passed my bike test in the UK when I was 16, & rode for a number of years. But here my licence counts for nothing & I have to do the whole training thing again. Same applied to the car :frown: when I came here, & I'd been driving for 35+ years!
