I just joined the Association. I'm from Brisbane in Australia and have been a member of the Woodworkers Forum in Australia for a month or two. I am new to pen turning having bought a lathe about a month ago. I have never used one before and watched a few UTube videos on pen turning before starting up the lathe and teaching myself the basics. With a lot of advice from the Woodworkers forum I have managed to make about 20 pens so far. Each one gets better as my skills improve and I try new finishes. I have attached a couple of photos of my latest efforts. They are both Majestic pens made from Wenge and Tasmanian Huon Pine coated with CA and WOP.

I look forward to getting some more advice on how I can improve my pens

Greg

welcome to IAP

welcome to the forum. pretty new myself, to the forum and turning pens. nice work in the pics. advice is everywhere her at IAP. they share everything, and trust me, if you ask about it, someone has done it well. being able to do it is sometimes a task but the advice is certainly there. again, welcome aboard.

Welcome from Georgia, USA. Your pens look very good and you appear to be making excellent progress with your work. Ask questions and check the forums often, you will learn a lot about pen making and many, many other topics as well. Welcome and enjoy.

Welcome, Greg.

Those are some good looking pens. Are you saying that you are using both CA and WOP as a finish on both pens or that one is CA and the other is Poly?
