HF Band saw

My experience has been that the small bench top bandsaws are ok for cutting blanks but not much more. Boards to blanks will prob be okay. I have not used the HF 9inch but I have used several others similar.

I personally have the HF 14 inch band saw with riser block and it performs nicely. I tuned it and keep it tuined, tossed the blade and installed a Tmber Wolf blade and use it for lots of band saw jobs mosly related to turning. I cut lots of green bowl blanks and other blanks along with cutting blanks for pens.

I'm sure you will get other advice including lots of HF bashing and maybe even more HF band saw fans. Good luck with your info gathering and decision making.
Do a good turn daily!

I plan to use it exclusively for pen blanks. I was more concerned if I would be able to tune it accurately. I have looked at the HF 14 inch but was leaning more to a Grizzley if I go with a 14 inch.
