Hey friends, just wanted to stop in and say hi. I havent been much of a presence on the forum in the last few months, ive just been going through some major life changes and my light has been burning a little dim lately. Just havent had the time or desire too make anything lately, but hope the light at the end of the tunnel will show me the way very soon. I usually still check in almost everyday, just havent commented or posted anything. I am impressed by some of the pens that have been shown lately and wish i could have gotten in on the Best of IAP contest, just all of this hit right at the worst time and i just couldnt get my entries done. I want to thank Jeremy for checking in with me the other day, was very nice of you.

Hope to be back turning soon.

Justin

well to say i know what you mean would be an understatement. i found turning to be my savings grace. a place to escape the real world for a little while. i received a lot of great support here and i'm sure you will too.

Glad to see a post from you Justin! We have missed your creative contributions. I got in a slump toward the end of Summer and had no desire to create anything. It was a rough few months, but the gloom dissipated. I found a book that really had some practical guides for creative people trying to climb out of a low spot. It is one that I crack open on a weekly/monthly basis now. "The Van Gogh Blues" by Eric Maisel. Keep taking small steps toward the creative light. Glad you are a contributing part of this community.

Regards

Justin glad to see you online again. Hope everything it's getting better. Miss seeing your work they are my inspiration to complete a custom pen. Let us know if you need anything.

Glad you're hanging in Justin! Sometimes a break is just what's needed. Life first, fun second and I hope they collide on a regular basis for you!

Justin,

Your work is an inspiration to many of us who are quiet participants on this site. I have learned a great deal from your posts and am truly grateful. I hope that things will change and you get back to your old self.

Hi Justin, it's good to see you 'post'. Hopefully things will clear up for you and that you get back to making some great pens.

Glad to hear from you Justin! I was just wondering the other day how things had been going for you since we havent really heard alot out of you for awhile. It seems as though it must be a result of changing seasons and new stones are being turned! I pray all things are well for you and that you get the time you need to gather those creative thoughts and finally get an opportunity to build some pens!

Thanks, turning is a relief for me, just struggling to get myself out to the shop.

Thanks Martin, I will check out the book, I could use a pick me up. I'm still headed the right way, just at a very slow pace.

Thanks Jim, I might have needed the break but didn't want it, I need to get out there soon. Life has been happening, just missing out on the fun.

Thanks Peter. It's good to post again, I miss it around here. Hope to be making something soon.

Justin,

Good to hear from you. I hope your life changes have made you a stronger, better person. Take care.

Jason

Thanks Jason. I'm sure they will, just have to get past the hurt first. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, I've just got a ways to walk.

Thanks Seamus. The seasons have definitely changed, and many stones turned. But hopefully they will be used to build a new path for me. I hope to get some time in the shop very soon.

It's great to hear from you Justin. Been thinking about you. Take care of yourself and the rest will come with time.

Thanks Brooks. I am and taking it all In stride.

Hope things get turned around for you soon.

Thanks Jim. They will I'm sure. I still wake up every morning, so every day that's happens I'm blessed.

Yes, glad to hear from you again, Justin. Only good can come from getting your mind on new ideas rather than dwell on old problems.

And from a purely selfish perspective, your work motivates us. I look at your galleries now and then just because your work is so stimulating.

Hey! good to "see" you! Too many good folks disappear and don't make it back, so it's good to see you posting. For me, even when "life" is great, I still can't find the motivation to get in the shop. It comes and goes in spurts.
I'm sorry that things are down for you right now. Just remember, "this too shall pass."

Glad to see you on IAP again Justin, even if to check in with us. Hope to see some of your work again and things start looking up for you.

I've been trying to remember for weeks the person whose kitless pens I'd admired in the SOYP gallery!
Just saw the username pop up in the thread listing and instantly remembered!
Great to see you posting an hopefully you'll be up and posting some great work again!

Your so very right Robert. And thanks for the complement. That means a lot to me. I've been impressed with your latest pens. Sorry or not commenting on them.

Glad to hear from you and see that you've been checking in. I credit you for a lot of the inspiration and early training for my kitless journey. And I've been putting little callouts for you in my messages a couple times hoping it would prompt you to respond if you were checking in. Just look at the last paragraph in my post here. :)

Thanks Gil. That means a lot. I noticed the shout out, just couldn't get my fingers to type. Thank you.

Thanks Keith. My loss pales in comparison to yours and I feel I need to get back on the path. Hope to make something soon.

I have been hit and miss myself lately, glad to see you are alive and well.

Thanks Hunter. My situation pales in comparison to your situation as well and I'm glad that you are ok and at least hitting acassionally. I'm more alive than well, but getting better.

Justin, it's good to see you again, I have been wondering how you were doing. I hope the light gets brighter, and I would love to see some of your great work, I've been missing seeing it.

WOW! Justin, just had a look at your Picassa album, there are some seriously beautiful pens on there. Hope to see some more of your work when you get back to turning again. Good luck.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving Justin!!! Good time of year to reflect. Did some of that...cancer is gone, but still a lot of problems, Daughter was married last week...last minute we weren't invited anymore, my son is getting married in June!! He's a Marine stationed in Hawaii...called him yesterday and he was kinda weepy, first Thanksgiving away from home...I'm still gone until Sunday. He called today to say thanks...remembered me being deployed on my ship. Still haven't heard from my daughter. Going to make dinner. Glad your head is up and moving in the right direction. I'm just starting kitless and your pic's are a real inspiration!! Anytime you want to head out to Ca...give us rookies a call!

My problems again pale in comparison to what youve been through, and im glad that you are doing well. Sorry to hear about your daughter. And thanks for the compliment, if i ever head that way i will do that, i know there are many of your here in Cali.
