Figured it's about time I posted one of these. I fully intended to wait until I turned my first pen but Amazon/UPS had a mishap and "lost" my new lathe today.
I'm not new to lathes, my uncle and grandfather taught me to use one many many years ago. I recently acquired an old used lathe from a friend, made a few small things and decided to jump both feet in and buy myself a newer mini lathe, a Rikon 70-100.
I already ordered some kits and blanks from William Wood-Write (GREAT company to do business with) and also some blanks from a couple IAP members. I'm very ready to turn my first pen and hopefully I can by Friday!
