Thanks for letting me join. I have been pen turning for a couple years and love it. I have a history buff son and have really enjoyed hunting down wood to make him a pen(he never knew he was going to be a pen collector. Lol) I enjoy looking for new things to try and see what people are making to make theirs look unique.

Greetings from Provo! Lots of us here in the beehive state it seems. I gotta say I like the idea of having a nice displayed collection of pens made from historically significant bits of wood. Any particularly cool ones?
 
I used to have to go to Nephi, UT a few times/year--and when i could schedule right i'd drive back up to SLC airport going up the west side of Utah Lake. I recall passing Herriman once i rejoined the state highways. Much nicer drive than spending an afternoon on I-15!! (important to have paper maps to drive like that--cell phone service can be spotty in places!!) Welcome aboard.
