Hesitant, but made it.

I received an order about Feb this year to make 3 pens out of a Christmas Tree that they shipped to me.
2 for the owners who sell his trees, and one as a gift to the grower.
I tried to convince them for me to add a little dye to the work but they wanted no part of it and said they want whatever the turning process would show.
They are happy, so I am happy.
Beware the sanding will clog and burn everything, but now I know how to proceed with the final pen.
I know it's plain, but I did what was asked.
I'm ok with the finished product.

It actually turned out looking nicer than I would expect from a softwood. Kind of rustic lookin. Thanks for sharing.

Looks good to me . The key to good looking pens from small diameter softwood is to drill dead center on the pith , and position the blank so that as many radial radial branches as possible will show on the most visible parts of the pen .

Looks great - BTW I used to spend a lot of time in the Hamilton, Middletown, Carlisle area back in the early 2000's. Beautiful country once you get past Cincy lol.

Nice pen! I'm a strong believer in doing what makes the customer happy. I have done pens I'm not exactly excited about, but - it isn't about me, it is about the customer.
