I have several friends who are into pocket sized pens, so I thought it would be fun to try one. My goal was to make a pocket pen, but give it the same amount of design attention I would give one of my full size pens: clip, trim, overlay, engraving , etc. I made this one from Conway Stewart "pistachio" acrylic and silver. I've always thought the herringbone patterns I've seen on some segmented pens looked nice, so I figured it would be fun attempting to engrave the pattern, since I don't do any segmenting. The most difficult part was attempting the layout around the overlay while keeping everything even. Since the clip is such a narrow canvas, as well as tapering, I really only had enough room to do one iteration of herringbones on it.

The pen is about 3.75" long when capped, compared to the 5.25" my full sized pens are. It uses a jowo 6 nib and short cartridges.
