OK everyone with a pressure pot. I have found the solution for high priced dyed veneer. I found if you use an alcohol based dye...such as food coloring. you can take a cheap veneer and dye it. I use a 3x6 mold so I cut the veneer to that size, and threw it in the mold. Then pour in the dye. Just enough to cover the veneer. Finally put it under pressure. I use 60psi. I left it in for an hour. Mainly cuz I was tied up doing other things. After I came back I took it out and let it dry. It is as black as any store bought veneer all the way through. I hope this helps anyone like me who is a bit suprised at the high price of dyed veneer.
