I frequently get responses to the welcome PM I send to new members. I'm sharing one (with permission) just to point out what a helpful and friendly community we have here. As long as we can make new members feel this way, the IAP will continue to grow and thrive. THANKS to you all for showing our new members that they've found the best site on the internet!

I'm looking forward to being a part of the IAP. I have just started making pens and am in need of as much info as i can get. I've been turning bowls for a couple of years and really enjoy it, making pens should be a nice addition to my hobby

I have made 10 pens to date and I think I've made every mistake possible, though I might find that there are more ways to screw up a pen in the years to come. the good news is that with the help of the IAP I have managed to repair all the pens and can say that thus far all my pens are functional if not yet perfect.

Looking forward to being a member in this community in the years to come.

Having a forum packed with good information is one thing... having a forum packed with great friendly members with no flaming as a result of fantastic forum etiquette makes being on the boards a home from home. so many forums are spoiled by bad attitudes.. its a great burst of fresh air being apart of a friendly community. the only issue is actually logging off and doing some work

+1!!!!!!

Agreed, this has been a great community to meet friendly and knowledgeable people that are more than willing to help out whenever they can. And it's not always just concerned with pen making. When you "hang around" that kind of people, it just makes you want to be the same way.

This is a great forum for a beginner (I just started in November). Usually I end up lurking at forums because beginner questions aren't really welcome, but I've had nothing but polite and friendly responses here. On top of that, 3-4 members sent me PMs with helpful tips and one sent me some free blanks with an order from the Deals forum!

 Thanks Jeff for sharing this with us !! I beleave in P T Barnum's saying. " You can please some of the people most of the time, and most of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all of the time ". I think the members on this site are doing a hell of a job at helping all of the people all the time !!!!! Jim S
