Look at the side grain, definitely not red palm. I don't know the exotics, but do know the palms.

That is Batu wood, I know that wood well...!
They come in all sorts of colours from nearly white to dark brown, yellows, reds, etc. Very heavy and dense wood and splintery, particularly used here in Australia for floor decking's and outdoor furniture...!
I have a couple of boards cut into pen blanks that I normally give as gifts...!
