I would like to know if anyone has had a problem with the PSI pen blank vise, particularly lateral movement of the center shaft after it's tightened?
I've checked the components and all seem to be as tight as they're going to get, yet, after inserting a blank and tightening it in preparation for drilling, the entire center assembly moves laterally at least a good eighth inch. This is obviously not acceptable as it definitely can affect the size of the hole in a negative way.
There appears to be an O ring that apparently holds one of the sections tight against a cap nut of sorts. Ther is space between the ring and the section and perhaps that's where the problem lies.
Just thought I'd throw this out to the members for some feedback and helpful advice.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but has the original inquiry with the "s" now correctly inserted, been address/answered ????

I have a black vise from PSI that floats on one side. I had to put a thin shim under the floating side or that little bit of play would make a big difference by the time I drilled a long blank. I saw in a picture that they send a shim with the vise now. I think it was in their cat. but not 100% sure.

I had one once I don't recall all that was wrong with it but it wasn't worth the powder it'd take to blow it up. I think it was from PSI also. It was just very poorly made.

Does anybody have any idea of what we're talking about ????
Oh, that would be "amounts" by the by .... YIKES, it's happening to me !!!!!!

It's called a typo, but thank you so very much for pointing that out!
My apologies for having fat fingers and a small phone screen...
