HELP! Trying to scan 400 stamps

I'm trying to scan a bunch of stamps and then crop them for individual pictures for a web listing. When I try to edit the scan in Picasa, it is saving the original picture as the latest crop.

What am I doing wrong??

I think you have to go File>Save a Copy and it will create a second image in the same folder.

Use "save as" and give the cropped picture a new name.

Thanks, Chris. I tried that and it worked.
Mike, I tried your suggestion, too, but somehow the file changes to the new version. I'll keep fiddling with it.
