I've got a customer who wants to have a pen made from a .470 Nitro Express casing.

Any ideas on how to make that happen?

What type of pen, Roller ball or ball point, 7mm tranny or 8mm or 10, (slimline, Euro, Cigar)? Can you get your hands on a hollow point in that caliber? That makes a nose cone easier. Then you may have to drill and make a hole just large enough to put a transmission adapter if you want to use 8 or 10mm tubes, from a kit in it either pressing it in, or gluing it, or both.

The client was originally interested after seeing the .50 cal flip pen kit. So I asked him how he expects it to work. The same way or a twist.

A Barnes solid copper bullet would also be a good choice for the nib end.

Norma .470 Nitro Express

Make this one few years back for a local big game hunter.
Used a Woodleigh (474) 500 Grain FMJ projectile for the nib.
Put a piece of antler in the primer pocket.
