Help identifying wood type.

I have two of these blanks, turned one into both of these pens. Don't know what type of wood it is though. Any help would be appreciated.

Desert Ironwood maybe or a type of Rosewood.
Could be Cocobolo.
Is it oily? Did it smell good or stinky when turning?

Can you compare it to something in terms of hardness and density ? Photo of well sanded end grain might help .

I'm no expert. But it looks like some of the Cocobolo I've turned. In either case, I like 'em.

After thinking more, it didn't have the weight of Ironwood so I am going to go with Cocobolo.

Possibly chechen. See if the off-cut floats or sinks in water. It should sink if it is cocobolo. If it floats then I'd go with chechen...

BTW- I forgot to say, really pretty pair of pens no matter what type of wood it is!

Could it be Bocote?

It had very light bits of purplish and yellowish colors in places.
