I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I've been trying to figure out what in the world the wood is. It came labeled like this, and I can't quite decipher it. Does anyone know what this is? It made two beautiful pens, I just don't know what to call them.
Any help is appreciated!

Can't ID the wood myself. The first written word appears to be begin RA, the rest I can't figure. The second word appears to be "Burl". Sorry I can't help more.

:confused: Nearest I can come to it is Revere which is an English Oak Burl. It does look like some Oak Burls I have in my collection. Jim S

I appreciate all of the suggestions! I'll admit that the writing does look like Ramone to me now that someone mentioned it, but I've never heard of that kind.
I'd email the person I got it from, but I don't remember who it was. So many blanks...

A quick Google search & a good guess would be Ramon Burl. I saw a picture of a piece there that looks like yours.

Pretty wood!
