Help identifying pen blank

This is a burl of some type. I'm thinking Redwood, maybe?
The pictures show all four sides.

My best guess is camethorn.

Looks like it could be redwood Burl to me, but it also looks a little more dense than I'd expect

Redwood would be very light whereas camelthorn would be much heavier

I'm likely wrong, but that looks a lot like the Thuya Burl I've been turning for some time now.

Burls are really tough ones to identify. The eyes and striations don't look like any of the redwood burl I got from Rocky Bemis from Humboldt County in California. They had very pronounced eyes. - Regardless it is a great looking blank and it should make a gorgeous pen! - Dave

I would agree redwood. But if the wood is dense/heavy then I would be wrong.

Thuya Burl.
Amboyna Burl will typically have Larger eyes and they often time will include sap wood as a contrast.

It appears too dark compared to all of the redwood burl I've seen. I would expect more pink within.
It should have had a wonderful aroma while turning—sorta cinnamon and yet pine or cedar at the same time.

Is it heavy or light weight?
If heavy, unlikely it's redwood.

No aroma that I could tell. Weight between light and heavy.
