A Chinese restaurant in Kentucky has reportedly been forced to shut its doors after allegedly serving up roadkill.
WKYT.com reports that the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg was shuttered on Thursday after a customer called the health department when she saw a dead deer being wheeled into the kitchen.
"Two of the workers came in wheeling a garbage can and they had a box sitting on top of it," Kate Hopkins told the website. "And hanging out of the garbage can, they were trying to be real quick with it. So that nobody could see it. But there was like a tail, and a foot and leg. Sticking out of the garbage can and they wheeled it straight back into the kitchen."
Paul Lawson, Whitley County's environmental health inspector, said the owner's son admitted to pick up the dead animal from the side of I-75 North in Williamsburg. The restaurant was immediately shut down.
"They said they didn't know that they weren't allowed to," Lawson said. "So that makes me concerned. But maybe they could have before. They didn't admit to doing it before."
Owners can reopen the restaurant, Lawson said, if it passes a secondary health inspection proving that they have properly sanitized

We have a place here in Maine called "The Road Kill Diner" ...C'mon up Ernie, you'll feel right at home!:biggrin:

Heck the road kill was probably the freshest, safest meat in the restaurant. That reminds me of a few years back when the morning of my elk hunt my friends were all arriving at the house at 4am. One of them saw a deer get hit by an oncoming car and saw it spin off the side of the road. So he threw it in the back of his pickup...(thinking it was dead). He gets to my house smiling saying "Well I've already got mine" and I hear these loud sounds in his truck. The deer apparently was knocked out and had woken up but it's back was broken and it couldn't stand up. So we had to put it out of it's misery. Another friend showed up and quickly skinned it and boned out the meat and we all ate it for dinner... :)

I always wondered why there are so many chinese restaurants next to veterinarians down here. Now I know.....................

I'll have the road kill special please!!! The guys at work always ask me why I eat chinese all the time for lunch. My answer to them is, you can't get dog that tastes that good anywhere else:biggrin:.

Ernie, you can have whats left of the deer that just wrecked my truck. It had a broken rear hip and somehow got 3 clips worth of 10mm and 5 rounds from a .357 in it too. My truck is in getting fixed now, about $12k in damages.

Somehow i'm envisioning Jim Carey in Me, Myself, and Irene:biggrin:.
And atleast it wasn't your Harley!!!

Wolftat...It had a broken rear hip and somehow got 3 clips worth of 10mm and 5 rounds from a .357 in it too.

Why did it take all that?

Long day and I didn't feel like reloading, used the 3 clips I had and my backup.
This is the truck that was wrecked.
