I pretty new to pen turnin(a few months) and I love it. September of last year I lost my right index finger, and severely damaged the middle in a workplace accident. I needed something to take my mind off of the accident, and I found pen turning. I jumped in with both feet and never looked back. I pour my own resin blanks, and stabilize some burls and such, and even got a laser engraver to engrave my wood pens. Every time I look up new information about pen turning, I end up here. So I decided this was the place for me. I'll add a few pics of some of my pens. I hope to learn from you all that have been doing this awhile.

Welcome to the forum, it's a pity the way that you found pen turning, but it it sounds that it has been cathartic for you.
This is a super forum with a wealth of information and experience. Check out the library. Ask plenty.
You will make friends here, so enjoy the ride.
As well as being therapeutic it is somewhat addictive

My turning (pardon the pun) to pen turning was my retirement. Glad that this hobby has been good for you. Welcome to IAP from South Texas
