My name is Ralph, I just started pen turning with a few kits I picked up at Woodworks. But I must say I am having trouble getting their bushings to match the kits they go to, when I put them together I just don't seem to get a smooth transition, so I thought I'd join here and get some experienced advice.

Welcome Ralph!! Try BTC turning (chech out the Library) with the associated bushing from Johnny CNC penturnersproducts.com, I'd guess that you are using a mandrel and you will have a tough matching parts using that. As you gain experience, start working with calipers for an exact fit.
