Hello to everyone out there!
My name is Jeff and I started turning pens about three months ago and am completely addicted. I was never much of a turner before but just fell in love with the intricacies of the craft and spend my lunch times and early weekend mornings creating pens. Denver, CO is where I keep my shop and look forward to meeting other members in the area.

Thanks guys!
I'm usually up for work at 4am during the week, so on the weekends I'm up at 4am, coffee in hand turning until my wife and son wake up. Everyone thinks I'm nuts so I'm headed in the right direction.

Welcome Jeff, I know the feeling. At first my wife was kind of wondering because of the money I first invested, but now she is enjoying the money coming in.

Welcome, Jeff! Looking forrward to seeing some of your work.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.

This link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes. I'm working on getting my lightbox together for some photos. There have been alot of new members from Colorado, maybe we should think about getting a local chapter together!

Welcome Jeff! I thought i was alone with my addiction... sneaking out to the shop at odd hours, turning until late at night, and back at it again early in the morning while the family sleeps....

It's all good!
