Just wanted to say hi. I am a hobbyist woodworker, with about a month's worth of lathe experience and about 7 months on a scroll saw. I took a pen turning class at my local Woodcraft store and within a month I bought a mini lathe (Shop Fox), drill press, pen press, and all the supplies needed to make about 20 slimline pens. I've been having a great time turning pens. I love how I can get 5+ pens done in one day in the shop and they are great gifts! I hope to move on to bottle stoppers, and other things.

A little more about me: My day job is in IT. I work for the nation's #1 marine engine builder as a Linux/AIX administrator. I've been married for 16 years and have 3 children.

I look forward to learning from all the great turners on this site!
