I'm a surgical assistant by trade. I have just returned to turning of any type in the last few months. I learned to turn back when high schools still taught woodworking as a class. I enjoy turning pens and seeing what some of the mystery wood I have bought ends up looking like when it is finished. I have had the privilege of being able to selling a few of my pens here and there, mostly to friends and co-workers. I'm now starting to experiment with segmenting some of my pens and turning some stabilized wood that a friend stabilizes for me (wife would kill me if I went out and bought a vacuum chamber or a pressure pot anytime soon).
