Just saying hello from New Hampshire.

I bought my first lathe a couple months ago from a guy on craigslist for 30 bucks. Old cast iron montgomery ward lathe, but works well. Even came with tools. I have been a turning fool since.

I am amazed at the quality of work i have seen on this web site and have picked up quite a few tips since I have been lurking. Fantastic site.

Welcome Cory, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/library/general_reference/Getting_started_in_pen_turning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.

Welcome Cory, I to am from NH originally but I got tired of shoveling snow about 40 years ago and move far enough South to where we only occasionally get a dusting. Enjoy IAP there are a great bunch of folks on here that are always willing to help.

The company that sends me checks every other Friday is from Merrimack, NH.

I have no idea in the world where that is.

I did not say I work for them because I spend most of my time surfing this site.
