My wife (Melissa) and I have been turning pens since 2019, but we also do other turning projects. We are in the process of starting a nonprofit called Pens for First Responders, and we hope to have all the legal requirements finalized by the end of July 2026. Our initial goal is to provide a custom ink pen to all the first responders in Denver Colorado, which totals about 3500 pens. We have partnered with Rockler Woodworking and Hardware (Denver Store) to host a live pen turning demonstration on October 28, 2026, which is National First Responder Day. During this event, we plan to give an ink pen to each Denver first responder that shows up for the live pen turning demonstrations. As a nonprofit, we welcome custom ink pen donations that we can give to Denver first responders. If any IAP members are interested in donating an ink pen for this event, feel free to contact Dave at 303-495-4660 or you can email me at pensforfirstresponders@gmail.com.

Welcome and my complements on your service to first responders. That is a lot of pens! FWIW, heard medical people like click pens as they can be ready by using one hand.
