New to this group and New to Pen Turning. About 26 pens in so far -- mostly with wood and now expanding to Hybrids and Aluminite Blanks. Seeking a Mentor/Coach in my area to speed up my learning curve and get into more advanced techniques. such as Inlays, tube coloring and its effects, Segmenting with soft metals and other materials, finishing systems, Kit-less and Custom pens. Working with Mammoth and Fordite.

Welcome to the group. There is a Woodcraft store in the area; Brentwood? Look for an AAW chapter, too. Good to inquire about getting help to advance your skills.
Spent a day in Franklin regarding the history in the Civil War.
 
Good recommendation already for looking for an AAW chapter or Woodcraft store - both are good resources. Not sure how you feel about attending symposiums, but there are two excellent ones coming in the first quarter of 2027 - Mid Atlantic Turners Expo in Manassas, VA MATES Link and the larger Midwest PenTurners Gathering in Chicago MPG Link .

Enjoy the ride - it's really about quality, not quantity
