Hello from Fort Worth

Hi,
I'm retired, been turning twenty-five years. Made and sold a few pens twenty years ago but have mostly made bowls, boxes and bottle stoppers as gifts over the intervening years. Got a request to make a pen for a friend. Dug out some kits I had and was surprised at how much I'd forgotten. Discovered my mandrel had some run-out. Decided I may have to make my own between-center mandrels. Every day is a new adventure.

Welcome to IAP, and welcome to the fulfilling tasks to make your own tools/jigs/thingies/shop stuff!

I always felt I had as much fun figuring out the jigs I needed, making them and seeing if they did their task. It was as fun as doing an easy turning with 98% success rate.
