Hi everyone. I'm Mantas from Lithuania, Europe.
First thank you for this excelent forum with such information and community.
Turning pens for only 7months. Making mainly fountain pens. Blanks: only exotic woods. For finishing i'm using CA (thin, medium), and micromesh.
Kit's i use: From xiamen rizheng industry (penkits.com)
Looking for another supplier, with more models, like fountain pens in various colors and quality parts (metal, really good plastic).
I don't know how kits match, but i use these from xiamen: Hexagon (I like, magnetic cap, metal parts), Jr. Gentleman upgraded (plastic, but good quality, nice looking), Clasic elite (don't like, plastic threads always pops out), clasic (same as classic elite), slimlines (favorite pen in rollerballs. really smooth writing). Looking for other kits. I was reading "marked research" topic in IAP, but didn't found any suppliers that's suites me (small quantity, good quality, nice colors, kit price ~10usd dollars + shipping).
Future plans: go kit less. section, body, cap made from wood (i'm gonna need a loads of coton and ca for strenghening
About product photography i used to photoshoot my pens in dyi light box with my iphone 5, few days ago i bought Nikon D60 and tripod. so now i'm learning how to make good quality photos
In my country pen turning isn't fammiliar, as far as i googled and searched same turning here in Lithuania - there's none. So I would't mind to call myself a pioneer of this thing
Sorry if my english language isn't perfect. It's clearly not my native language
Here are some photos of my works.
Kit: Jr. Gentleman upgraded. wood used: Palisander.

Whole squad of fountains.
Hexagon, jr. gent, clasic elite. woods: palisander, palisander, padouk with zebrano inlays.

Clasic elite with padouk and zebrano woods.

Any questions, thoughts? Have a nice day, Mantas.
