Thanks for allowing me to join your organization and continue my efforts at better learning pen turning. I've been woodworking on my own for the better part of the last 45 years, but only got interested in pen turning last summer. I enjoy it but look forward to learning good tips and techniques!
Thanks,
Tom

And another welcome; this time from Mississippi. I have been working with wood since the mid '50s as a pre-teen. And started pen turning around 2004. I was living in Japan at the time and there is not too much space for home woodworking there, so I took up pen turning. Almost as soon as I started, I joined this forum, which has great leadership and great members that help everyone out!

Join in the fun!

Hi Tom; Welcome! I am in Harrisburg PA. Our Susquehanna Woodturners club meets tonight and every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Harrisburg Woodcraft starting about 6:30pm. There is also Nittany Valley Woodturners club in State College.

Welcome from the NJ Shore!

If you feel like taking a bit of a drive, there is a very good pen focused turning symposium this coming weekend in Manassas, VA. MATES highlights pen makers and will have Barry Gross, Jim Heinze, Bob Blanford (RJB Woodturner) and a few other really good penturners and makers giving presentations. A few IAP members, including me, will be there - check it out - MATES

Good show to learn something! They have a pen turning focused vendors area selling lots of cool shiny new things too!

Kevin
