Like many before me I to am new to turning of any kind. Except in circles. I have been told I overspent for a beginner but now I have what I need. Been doing small projects, looking to try acrylics but prefer wood especially boxes so any help would be greatly appreciated..

Welcome from NJ Believe me you did not overspend and can tell you that you will look back at that amount and laugh when you start to really get into it. Turning acrylics is not that different than wood. Sure is alot more colors Sharp tools as always is a must. You will find acrylics to be a bit more messy with all those strings sticking to everything because of static. But look around and post any questions you have. There maybe more than one different answer to your question but at least you get a choice of options. Have fun, good luck and enjoy. stick around awhile.
