I'm Garth and I'm new to this whole experience of wood working. I've built shelves but never tried anything like what I have been working on lately. I want to Learn how to stabilize wood. So if anyone can give me any tips they are wecome and greatly appreciated.

I don't stabilize either, but lots of folks here do.
I would suggest that you contact Mesquiteman (Curtis Seebeck) and check out his website at Welcome to TurnTex Woodworks!. He's the master when it comes to stabilizing and the best source of supplies & equipment as well.
