Hello all!

I am a newbie to pen turning, so new in fact that I haven't turned my first pen yet! I have always wanted to turn pens and this past week I received a small lathe as a gift. So far I have been able to grind perfectly good sticks down to piles of shavings and I have to say it is quite exciting!

I look forward to reading the forums and learning from the members over the coming years and hopefully, I can turn a stick into something that I can write with.

Some of us have been turning perfectly good sticks into sawdust for a few years! Relax and enjoy the hobby.

Welcome Mike. It sounds like your off to a good start.
Don't worry about pens, the only difference is a little bit of set up. Other then that, its just making shavings.

Thank you all so much for the very warm welcome. I have been reading through the library and watching a number of the videos and can't wait to get started! Hopefully there is a shopping trip this weekend...

Everyone's work looks so amazing, some real talent in this group. I hope no one minds a ton of questions. Right now I don't even know what I don't know...
