Put this one together as a fountain pen. All the others have been rollerball.
I discovered that the fountain nib end is about 1/8" longer so I had to hand drill out the cap end a bit.

On second consideration, I believe Dale is correct(the other Dale). It does look more like maple burl because of the subtlety of the eyes and the light brown color. I believe this was one of the blanks from a burl collection I got from CSUSA.
I recall now that this blank was prepped for a cigar shaped pen some months ago and in the process of turning it round in preparation of drilling it, it seemed too small in diameter so I set it aside.
