Had a fun request for a princess kit with hedgehogs and a green leafy background for a gift for a hedgehog owner.
This was a fun creation.
Canes used are all my own, sliced super thin for this pretty kit.
Sanded and polished to a high shine.
I'm so very thankful for each and everyone of my customers and their requests, some take me out of a comfort zone with the cane combo's and I love the results it produces.
Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work, Melanie !!!!

It is always "good" to be taken out of our comfort zone. . Good for you means good for us !

And while I think of it, that's why the IAP contests are especially "good". . whether or not I even make an entry ... whether or not I win a prize ... it is "good" to challenge myself to try something new and/or different ... I usually like the result !!

I always love your posts !! . Keep up the great work ! . Someday I might even request something "different".

You create very beautiful work. I just bought a dog paw cane from PSI; I thought it was a blanks. So now I have to learn what to do with it. Continued success!

Mal - I do agree, our comfort zone keeps us standing still while venturing out a little makes us see a whole bigger picture.
Thank you so much for the kind words it means a lot.

Very cool, nice work!

Thank you LouCee.

Unbelievable. I'm a rank beginner, I've made maybe 6 pens from my own canes, I can't imagine how many more hours I'd have to put into it to be able to learn something like this. Maybe when I retire...

Aww thank you Gary,
I have been dedicated to making cane work for 5 years, it's been a passion to create them. It's for sure something that does take time to learn, I am still learning every day with this medium as it has so much to offer and so many possibilities. It took me 4 years with clay work under my belt to get the courage to start working with pen kits and I am so glad I made the switch from the good ole Bic round sticks to the kits.
