Woke up this morning thinking I was going to have a leisurely day ahead of me. Boy was I wrong!
After dropping off my lil girl at my parents for a few hours I went home to write a few quick emails and go in the shop to work on my PITH pen.
I had been having trouble with my AOL email account. For some reason they had me blocked from gaining access. Probably some spam crap. Anyhow, the security question they wanted answered didn't make any sense so I had to give them a call. After a couple weeks of hour long wait times (and not wanting to wait that long) I decided to wait on hold today while writing my emails on my GMAIL account. Got the whole thing straightened out pretty quick and started sorting through the mass of emails.
I'm SO happy I did it today!
A friend and fellow pen turner (who has decided to take a break from pens for now) had referred me to some of his long time customers but had given them my AOL email. Thankfully they had only been sitting 2 days so I wrote them back with my GMAIL email so I didn't risk not gaining access again. I immediately got a response from one person wanting 5 pens for their board members...for Christmas
. He knew he was pressing me for time so he agreed to pick from my current stock. My problem is that I don't have a website for my pens (I know, I know...I'm working on it)! So I was back and forth with my phone emailing quick cell pix. In the end he picked out 4 Zen rollerballs and a sierra. He was also wanting overnight delivery. So I had about 30mins to quickly pack the pens and get to the post office which is 25mins away! Got there in the nick of time and had everything shipped out.
Not exactly how I wanted to spend the day, but I'll take a sweet payday like that anytime! Now I have a bit more Christmas money to spoil my little girl :biggrin:
