sorry it happened..best be safe and survive. I know thousands of people along the west coast have died from tsunami's, in some cases, like in Alaska entire civilizations have been wiped out. I remember when I was in Hawaii we went to sandy beach and the waves were about 6-7 foot. For a Hawaiian that might not seem like much, but those are the biggest waves I ever stood in and its unbelievable how much power is in a wave like that, especially when the wave is receding off the beach it wants to pull you into the ocean! I'm not at all surprised that so many people drown or at least lose their bathing suits on that beach. I hope everyone in Japan is ok too.

watching it right now. They just put the entire west coast on alert. Say it will get hit about 8 am AZ time. Not sure I am understanding that time but I don't understand the entire layout of this either.

Just praying this is not as bad as they are saying it could be.

Pretty cool live feed, thanks. I've been to Diamond Head..even though it's dark, its pretty amazing how far out the ocean has pulled out exposing the reef...or well, they call it a reef, I call it a deadly plate of razor lava rock waiting to turn a man to swiss cheese! I love Hawaii...even though when you go there it feels like a different country.

Tom, You could end up with ocean front property....:biggrin:

I hope our members in Japan are okay. Hope all goes well for those who may be impacted by the tsunami.

I just read on our local news Web site that if the power had not been out where they have a seismograph, the earthquake would have actually registered a reading here! This is in upstate NY; half way around the world? Well, at least in the northern hemisphere.

I pray by now you are all safe and the worst is over. Please make contact when you can - We will continue to send prayers and good Karma in your directions.

Linda

Stay safe! I hope all our members in Japan are safe (probably - in a quick check of the member list, I didn't find any members really close to the worst hit areas).
