Well, I haven't been participating in a while. I have been able to occasionally look through current postings. I'm in the middle of moving. Started taking the shop apart this week. Still uncertain what kind of space I'm going to end up with where I'm headed. We are looking for a home in the Pleasanton/San Ramon area. I think this area is still considered to be in the East Bay of San Francisco, although its over the hills a bit. I will familiarize myself with the lingo more when we get up there. It seems that Northern Californians refer to Southern Californians as those people from "that other state." I'm ok with that. I understand the desire for the separation and I'm happy to be leaving southern CA.

It is a very competitive housing market right now. Buyers hanging in the wings waiting for listings. We are headed up to make an offer on a place... Again. Our house has sold down here and the clock is ticking until the kids finish school. I sure hope our offer is competitive enough to be accepted.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you who live in that area and meet together. It is soooo beautiful up there. Anything closer to Oregon is ok with me.
I will likely end up taking half of a two car garage until I can arrange something better.

Once I get settled I hope to participate more on the forum.

Blessings to all,

Martin

Have you checked with the NOR CAL immigration office? There are only so many LA LA people being allowed up here at this time. We need more people in the lower part of CA to keep that end down other wise it will all slide north in an Earthquake.

Welcome to Nor Cal. Lot to do up here close to ocean and mountain snow if you ski. The is the North/Central Cal group that is basically Headquartered in the Pleaston/Livermore area. You will get some of the Valley heat but also the coastal coolness. Much nicer up here than in So Cal.

I go through there twice a week...let me know when you get settled! Greg will let you know when the next meeting happens at his place.

It's good to be plugged in and I look forward to meeting the Nor Cal group.

Tom - I thought So Cal would break off and slide into the ocean. And with the horrible weather in the mid west, I think there are plenty of people coming to take my place. We were here in the early 90's and more recently the last 10 years. Time for a change.

It will be nice to meet you. It looks like our next meeting may occur the last weekend in May. It is a nice place, but then again we tend to be partial to this end of the state.

Thanks Cindy!
We won't be in town until mid June. I may be reaching out for some help in getting the lathe situated. It's a Powermatic and very heavy.
Wish us luck this weekend!
