Have you ever wanted to make a wooden plane?

On another forum I participate in we are going to have a wooden handplane making class.

I made one recently because I had some panels too large to run through my planer. Worked out well and it was a lot of fun. Quite simple to build. Found several different sets of plans on the 'net and this was built using information from about three different designs. A fixed mouth instead of an adjustable one. Next time I think I'll work on an adjustable mouth version.

Pardon the poor picture, borrowed a camera a while back and never bothered to read the manual on that one...

Actually with your metalworking skill you should try your hand at infill planes.

I'm new to that forum and just ordered my blades to get started. It was actually something that I been planning on doing this and the timing is awesome!
