I have some that has some great figure in it. It is very dark from dark brown to black. Lines and streaks of cream run through it. It is predominately dark though. It is extremely hard and, in some areas, brittle. When brittle, it will break along the long grain. Mostly, it cuts and sands well.

Does this wood need to be stabilized? I have made a few pens using it and it seems to work well. CA works fine on it.

I am thinking about using this with one of Bangle Guy's bangles. Any thoughts?
 
I just made a pen out of it. I found a block, not many people have heard of this wood, and it was called Canxion Negro burl but your spelling is right. Didn't stabilize it and it turned fine but have your tools sharp, it likes to chiup out.
