This is the first in a series of cutting boards I plan on making. This one is made primarily of poplar with a few bands of maple and walnut. I've never seen Poplar with this much color. Ironically, the back side is relatively plain (but still pretty.) The board measures approximately 12" x 9" x 3/4" and was finished with a blend of food safe walnut oil and microcrystalline wax.

That's a beautiful cutting board and I really like the variations of color in the poplar. I haven't seen many boards that look like this one. That's a keeper!

Good looking boards but is poplar not to soft for a cutting board it has a janka scale of 540 .I was told you need 850 or above for it to stand up to the cutting over time. But it is a good looking board.
