I got inspired by Bob Ross and made happy little trees.

Actually, these were made for my sister in law as a surprise. We happened to be at their house while they were getting some trees trimmed and I snagged a couple sections thinking I would make something with them. As it "turned" out, I made trees. These were a lot of fun and pushed me a little bit as they are most certainly not a turned pen or bottle stopper. Great way to work on other techniques to make me a better turner.

Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what the wood is but think it may have been from an ornamental pear. The finish is spray lacquer.

Very nice happy trees. If you have any wood left, you might try one of the leaning trees such as found on this you tube site. I have made some of these and people are pleased with them.

As a matter of fact, I do still have some of it left! That's a great idea.

I have another friend who just had some trees taken back on her property too. I may have to go do a little walking through the cut pile
