Thanks guys -- German Chocolate cake & Blue Bell's new Red, White & Blue ice cream tonight!

We have a fun weekend planned -- heading back home for a couple of days to go to a Moods Dance at Grenau Hall (our favorite group from the 60's - these guys are as older than me) and a family reunion on Sunday. Here's a few things I made for the silent auction.

The stoppers are cedar, mesquite & pecan from my grandfather's old pecan tree. The seam rippers are BOW.

Yep, I grew up on a farm outside of Yorktown where we were tenant farmers & share croppers. We bought a store & moved to Meyersville when I was a senior in HS. We recently sold the store building & grounds to the Meyersville Fire Dept, but we still have a farm near Meyersville and my brother still lives on the old Dohmann homestead in Weesatche. I have a lot of family in the area & like to visit whenever we can.

Here's a photo of our store from 1969 and our present-day campsite at our farm (notice the modern restroom facilities at the lower right of the photo).
