For the last couple of days I've been reading some posts from some IAP folks that have been going through the mill with eBay and the ex. I just wanted to say that I feel you pain, gentlemen.
Been with eBay and PayPal for more than a decade, and I have a few nightmares of my own. I used to sell stamps and postal history. On more than one occasion, I've had returns demanding a refund and shipping because the item was damaged. Now, I photographed EVERY item, front and back, to show condition. I would call out the smallest flaw in the description. Essentially, I left no stone unturned in revealing item quality. I know mistakes can still be made, and I will make good on anything I muff up. But when someone sends me back a stamp that has obviously been damaged AFTER I mailed it, or they send back a stamp that I did not sell them and demand a full refund, well.... let's just say that burns me up.
And my ex... oh, man..... let's just say earlier this year my daughter had the clarity of mind to come and move into my house. She now goes to a different high school, is getting better grades, and couldn't be happier. (If teens truly are ever happy.) The secret to my success? I just treated her honestly and fairly. No hidden agendas or emotionally-driven reactions. Everything in my house is predictable. Right down to the swift consequences for poor actions. (NEVER a punishment without a lesson involved.)
So do I empathize with you fellas? Dang right. Do I feel your pain? You bet.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Now I use the t-shirt to protect the bed of my lathe while polishing pens! In the grand scheme of things, life is good.
Before you know it, these things will be behind you, too. Hang in there!
