I have been noticing a trend of inquires about shops for those of us not able to stand or move around our shops freely of recent. This month's "Wood" magazine, issue 206 September 2011, page 66, has an article about one of our returning wounded warriors and his shop. There are many ways to improve the shop for the handicapped wood worker. I hesitate to use the word, handicapped, for the stigma it dumps upon the individual, but it is the only one that encompasses the meaning. I would copy it and place it here but that would be a copyright infringement. If you can not find a copy, contact a friend or check your local library. It is well worth the read even if you have both legs working perfectly.
The article goes into shop layout and tool mods. "Wood" magazine design staff helped with the shop design. If many of us contact them, then they might place that article on their website for free viewing. Worth a try.
