Halloween can be lots of fun! Here are several of my favorites.
One year, I put some black plastic on the mulch between the front porch and the bushes, laid down and covered myself with the plastic. I had a shop vac extension tube with which I could make noises through as well as reach out and tap or scrape on the sidewalk!
Wifey was sitting on the porch and would tell me when there were little kids so I wouldn't scare them....Loads of fun! Two teenage girls (one a student of my wife's) took off running, ran through a tree/flower bed, one whacked her head on a tree limb(small limb), both fell, one lost their flashlight! FUN! The student girl would not even mention it at school till almost the of the school year!
Another year, I had the porch lights on, left the door ajar with the candy bowl in the doorway. Lights off in the house. It was a "self serve" candy bowl!
Little did the kids know that I was kneeling behind the door and just as they reached in for some candy, I would grab their wrist and make some noise!
We could hear the kids on the street saying "Go up to that house...they have candy"!
Yet another year, more fun! Our house sits on a street corner and we have a flower bed with several trees, bushes, a small water feature, etc. on the corner.
Wifey sat on a big rock by the water dressed in her pumpkin outfit with the candy bowl. I had opened the manhole cover for the curb storm drain, climbed down and took up residence there for the evening. I was comfy sitting on a five gallon bucket, had a flashlight, etc.
When kids and folks came near, I would reach up with a piece of galvanized pipe and bang on the manhole cover and make noises from the dark domain!
I even spooked one of the parents! Wifey said he really jumped!
Fun, Fun!
Some longtime neighbors still talk about these Halloween nights at the Wortman house!
Do any of you have any good stories of pranks you have done?
