This will be a little different than the other stuff I've made in the past.
I just finished up my first hardcase build and wanted to show it off.

I built it for only around $45 and it fits my Starcaster perfectly.
the latches, hinges, and handle are from home depot.
the fabric and foam are from Johann fabrics.
and the corners are from rockler.
I already had the 3/4" plywood.

thanks, I tried to find black or grey lining, but no-one where I live carries anything but green. the foam was probably the most expensive part of the whole project.
 
just some cotton-camo cloth I bought at a fabric store.
I glued it on using spray adhesive.
 
CAUTION---Look out for that foam!!!! It may well have plasticizers (compounds to keep the foam soft and pliable) in it that will attack your guitar's finish over time it turn it soft. I had a Calzone pro level hardshell road case with foam that had some sort of flocking over it. Over the years the flocking or whatever it was wore off, and the foam started melting the finish on my guitar.

thanks for the tip, I never would have thought of that.
I don't really store my guitar in it so I won't make a big stink over it this time, but on my next one I think I'll use felt or something. It'll be a heck of a lot cheaper that way too!
 
I might be making another hardcase for a friend this week, so I'll be sure and get a bunch of pics and maybe even make a tutorial.
