I started watching Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, and American Pickers. Well my 6 year old girl started going crazy for Swamp People, Finding Bigfoot (she says those people are dumb for believing in Bigfool LOL), Gator Boys, and just about any of those type shows. Her new one is Mountain Men. These shows have turned into my guilty pleasures. What do you think of them, or do you even watch them.

First I dont actually get TV at my place but several relatives have sent us the "Alaska" themed show on tape or DVD.

Frankly I dont get it at all and the shows are FAR from the truth! I did watch a couple of episodes of swamp people at my parents place.....the two old laid back brothers? They remind me of my pard Isaac and I! I can totally see us in our 80's doin up a fish fry for our folks!

Pawn Stars was interesting when it first came out. Then I lost interest seeing people get scammed.

Storage wars never interested me. I believe most of those places get picked over by the workers long before anything of value is found. I know a guy that worked at one after retirement for something to do, he said it was always junk and he was the guy who had to clean them out. He did have interesting stories from his battles with furniture he had to bust up to toss in the dumpsters LOL

American Pickers, same as Pawn stars

Swamp people has caught my eye a few times when nothing else was on TV.. choot'em

I pretty much quit watching tv because of reality television. When I watch tv it's usually Speedvision or some sort of sports programming. I met a crazy guy 2 weeks ago at a dirt track in Southern Ky. His name was Turtle Man and he was shocked I had no clue who he was. He apparently has a tv show and they were filming some of a new episode at the track.

Hey Bob, i've got an autographed picture he gave me if you want it. There's also some dude on it named Banjo Billy or something like that.

watching mountain men now, where he is stuck with snowmobile wont crank, has no gun and long way home, love the show, remindes me of Alaska in the miliary our church camp was 8 miles from nearest road, you flew in, buggied, skied ,how ever you could at that timeof year, got my first bear there, lots of work to stay there watch the show you wont be disappointed

Storage wars is a joke but the blond chick is hot and worth the watch some times. What can I say, I am a guy. Sons of guns is fun. My oldest, 10, and I are getting into American Guns just to watch the builds.

Out side of that those types of shows are not my cup of tea.

I like Pawn Stars. Don't care much for American Pickers. Haven't seen Storage Wars.

My favorites are Iron Chef (Japan version), Ice Road Truckers, American Guns, Sons of Guns, and Doomsday Preppers.

the two old laid back brothers?
Mitchell Guist (the brother shown on the right in the intros) passed away a couple of weeks ago at the ripe old age of 48!

"Swamp People" star Mitchell Guist died from natural causes, says coroner - Celebrity Circuit - CBS News

I thought they were in their 60's until they announced the passing of one of the brothers last month. When Mitchell died he was 47.

My daughter loves Swamp people, that is probably her favorite, well between that and Turtle Man. Well I found out Mitchell died so I called my wife to tell her about it, and she told my daughter who is almost 7. Her reaction was "What is going to happen to Glen?" It just warmed my heart.

Not much

I have seen at least parts of a lot of them but wouldn't be a fan of any of them.

I've seen American Pickers more than any others because of where they go...there is just something about an old barn full of "junk" that is facinating to me. I suppose because of the few old items I found in the barn when I bought the small farm we owned for 32 years.

I have to admit to watching American Pickers, Pawn Stars, and Storage Wars, althoiugh my favorite is Pickers. I keep hoping they will show up at my door and clean out my garage.

My wife watches them all! although she calls the bigfoot guys "the dork squad"
unfortunately I don't have much time to watch TV

Storage Wars - especially the original cast in S. California. I know it's fake, but still like it. No DVR, but will pause to watch if I catch it.

Swamp People - love that they subtitle everything including "Wooooowooo hooooo!!". I DVR this one. Choot it Cletus! Funny - I think Troy IS the buyer he keeps needing to catch.

Flying Wild Alaska - right up there for me. Another DVR. They actually do a pretty good job describing flying and a pilot's thought process, etc. Ariel's flying lessons are pretty much spot on.

Gold Rush Alaska - again, phony, but I don't care. Fun watching the old dude go into the shack by himself and pocket gold, LOL! DVR city.

Whale Wars - If these people haven't gotten themselves croaked by now, I'll probably live forever. Stupid on display. Just a great laugh every week. DVR this gem.

Survivor - more of a game show than reality TV, but it's been my #1 guilty pleasure since season 1. Don't know why, but I still like to watch. I am starting to lull though.

Finding Bigfoot. Hilarious show. They have a bigfoot that's infiltrated their gang and they can't figure it out. Getting paid to be an expert on Bigfoot. Now that's living the dream, no? No DVR because it's just too stupid, but it's fun when I catch it.

On the radio - coast to coast am with George Noory. Listening to insane people honestly discuss their imaginary worlds is fascinating.

Oh, a couple more:

Deadliest Catch - How did I almost forget this. Possibly my favorite of them all. DVR this one every episode.

Swords on the line (or something like that) - another fishing show that's fun. DVR.

Wow, no wonder my DVR is always maxed out. I don't have that kind of time! I guess I'll have to pick more carefully:eek:

I listen to Coast to Coast quite a bit when i'm in the shop. Those people are really far out.

Hmmmmm

I don't think I watch enough television in a month to see a week's worth of all of them. Max TV time is only about 2 hours in any one day and about half the time I spend most of that either napping or working a sudoku or crossword puzzle.

WHAT! Holly cow someone had a rough life!!!!! Isaac and I are in our mid 40's and we look far better than those two!!!

Believe me neither of us has lived anything near a "healthy lifestyle" either! Hell my life would make a good Hunter S Thompson novel.....

Gray beard

When I had a beard I looked older as well...my beard got gray while I was still fairly young and the gray in the beard and the sideburns added 10 - 12 years. Didn't keep the beard too long.

I don't watch much TV, and have no patience for reality shows. There are a handful of comedy and drama series I watch (Big Bang Theory, House, a few others). I definitely enjoy Top Gear (the original, British one). I'm not even much of a car enthusiast, but still enjoy it to the max. The mix of technology and snarky humour is unbeatable.

There's no such thing as "reality TV"... my opinion and I'm sticking to it.... it's all scripted and made up to "entertain" us... even the news is for entertainment not for informing the public.

That said, if NCIS is a repeat - and they're all repeats - and it's one I don't want to watch again, I like Pawn Stars and Auction Hunters (Alan and Tank)... Storage wars is too phony, don't care for the Swamp folks or other shows much... half the time I wind up watching House hunters and/or house hunters international. Or more often listening to TV while I play on the computer in my study or nap in the living room.

My wife has got me hooked on the shows on the cooking channel, like Restaurant Impossible, and Chopped, and I got her hooked on House Hunters, and Love it or List it.

I like Cafe Racer, and Chasing Classic Cars on the Velocity channel, and Antiques Roadshow on PBS.

Don't care for Hardcore Pawn because of all the bad language, even though always beeped out, there is still enough there that your brain figues it out which isn't good.

The Repo/towing shows are so staged & goofy that it makes it hard to not watch. When I catch myself watching those,I know I must be really bored, and have couch potato remorse after finally turning it off.....

I watch American Pickers as the act the most normal of all the other shows. I do get a kick out of storage wars and Dave YUUUUUUUP! Most of the rest a scripeted to the hilt. The Repro program with fat ugly picered half dressed broad the refuge from prison (the bald guy) are to much for me. I wish a couple of guys would come and beat the C**p out of them that would be fun. I have a freind who was a repo man for lack of a better job and it is not like that at all.

Don't watch Swamp men or Gator Boys don't care for the killing of Animals. I used to hunt but quit about 15 years ago. I know they do it for a living but I just don't care for it.
